Jabiru 3300 Installation tricks/tips/gotchas

Hi Arnie, if it only had one hour on it when you bought it, you may as well be the builder. Nothing will be sorted. As far as stuff like vapor locks, I am a believer in sticking with the stock Bing carburetor. It works well, so why spend money to introduce problems?
Regarding high CHTs:
- Don't do a lot of ground running with a new engine. You can cook it in no time. Even a taxi will help keep it cool.
- The engine will run cooler as it wears in.
- The Sonex specified cooling air outlets are way too small. Download the Jabiru installation manual from their web site. https://jabiru.net.au/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/JEM3302-7_Inst.pdf It specifies outlets at least 3 times the size of the inlets. The Sonex outlets are about 1.5 times. You can get away with slightly smaller outlets on a Sonex because of the higher speed, but you really have to get the air flowing through there.
