Thank you to the Monnets and all the Sonex crew for your hospitality at the home coming and hangar party. I know it's a lot of work to organize the food and music in the middle of running your biggest trade show of the year but we really appreciate it; and a shout out to the "Rocket Man" for designing one sweet looking jet!!!

I hope that everyone is able to make it home safely from Oshkosh if you haven't already done so. I'm hoping to write a longer story here in the following weeks about the adventure, but needless to say it looked like another wonderful show for the Sonex staff, friends and family. I was able to fly from Ohio up to the show on Saturday morning and was the third customer built example to arrive. Sunday was the Open House where we all heard about the now-for-sale AeroVee Turbo project, as well as the latest on the SubSonex jet. Robbie was able to get a great shot of my airplane during the show:

Once again the amazing staff at Sonex outdid themselves on a great Monday night Hangar party which we all really appreciate!

I wish I would have taken more pictures, but ultimately the week was a great one! Lots of interest from the general public on all models of Sonex, lots of customer examples present including at least 5 who camped with their airplanes, and fun all around!

By Thursday morning it was time to head for home so Kip and I pushed our Waiexes out for a late morning departure:

As much fun as the week is, it sure is nice to have a real shower, a warm bed, and some real food upon arrival:

I'm also super excited to begin preparation on this fall's project for my Waiex:

A huge thanks to everyone for a wonderful week and a great show! For those still traveling, please be safe!

I made it back to San Diego last night after dodging some thunderstorms. I left the show Wednesday morning and flew to Michigan to see my uncle and give him a ride around his lakeside house. The next day I flew to South Dakota and watched the Harleys headed for Sturgis ( I told them that Oshkosh was our equivalent ). By then I was ready for home and flew direct to San Diego which put me right over the Grand Canyon. We live in a great country and it is wonderful to have the freedom to see it from the air (or a Harley).

A couple of my buddies stopped at C77 on their way home to visit last Thursday. They had one Waiex picture - Mike Farley's! They liked it.
