Looks great, Mike. Keep in mind that a little extra effort for a great fit goes a long way when it's complete.

Many times I wanted to say "that's good enough" but decided to remove the cowl to take a few thoudandths off. A few extra minutes will be enjoyed for years!

Same process for the windshield/canopy.

Keep the pics coming...!

That looks great! That's going to be a beautiful plane! What do you have left to do?

Swap out incandescent landing lights for the whelens I got at OSH last year, install wing tips (the screw on), Install ailerons and flaps, rig ailerons and flaps, attach ruddervators and double check rigging, doublecheck all rigging and control safeties, double check wheel bearings, finish interior, weigh, tune engine for first flight, label all switches on panel, construct a POH, get inspected, fly.

Cowling is now fitted and hopefully I can get the riveting finished this weekend sometime. Of course, I did end up trimming off too much off the top edge, but hopefully it won't be too tough to fix. I'm hoping to move the project to the hangar here in a few weeks so I need to get this cowling done!

Looks great Mike. Got to be exciting to think about taking your aircraft to the airport nest. Keep the pictures coming.

I had some time today so I decided to toss on my wheel pants, canopy, prop, and spinner just to snap a few pictures. I'm now taking volunteers to wire my instrument panel if anyone is interested ;)

Cowling isn't done but done enough for now. Next steps are: trim system, engine baffling, mount and wire panel, and a few other things. Hopefully a move to the airport will be here in a week or two.

After looking at some beautiful airplanes down at Crossville yesterday, I spent around 12 hours today filling in the upper surface leading edges, sanded, filled again, sanded, and finally primed the surface. Just for the fun of it, I also tossed on the prop and spinner for a photo or two. I've got a few small spots to fill in with some glaze and then its on to wiring!
