Mounting the Y tails

Postby Bryan Cotton » Wed Jul 09, 2014 8:08 pm

Waiex builders,
Tried to mount my tail for the first time. I could not get the hockey sticks past the turtledeck skin. Looks like I need to trim another 1/4". Does this sound right?

Its been a few years, but remember having to trim quite a bit.

Thanks John. I will take out the dremel and show no mercy!

I think I had to trim a little extra as well Bryan. If you're talking 1/4" or so, I wouldn't be losing any sleep over it! File it away and move on!

Mike,
I did take 1/4". Once in place they would fit without trimming - like it was designed to have the tail mounted before the turtledeck.
