Congrats on a beautiful first flight Mike! Thanks for sharing the video; your AeroVee sounds great! I'm glad to hear all temps and pressures are in the green for you.

Please keep us up to date on how Phase 1 goes!

On the subject of solid cable breakage, after many years of flying C172 with both carb heat and mix cables with solid wire centers, I never had a breakage. I religously paid attention to the rigging, and made very sure the swivell was fully functional. To continue, ACS has an list of different sized 'B' nuts made for this exact purpose, for use with solid wire cables. The part number at ACS is '05-16210" for the first in the table of several different sizes. maybe these could assist with longevity of cable ends? IMHO! :)

Congrats Mike. It's a great feeling to have the first flight go well. I also had a heavy right wing. My right flap was "creeping up" in flight. I made a temporary stop to determine where my flap stops needed to be. I then installed them permanently. I tried lowering the flap on the right, but it could still move up. It doesn't have to move very far to cause wing drop. My left flap didn't do this. My guess is a slight difference in the build between the two wings.
