Right below my living room actually, in my unfinished basement. Some day I'll wheel the thing out the doors and around the side of the house.

The local EAA Chapter #17 had their monthly meeting in May at my house (on Cinco de Mayo) last month. My project was featured in this month's newsletter:

Very cool! I was trying to find your chapter newsletter because I lose the right half of pictures on the forum, on my iphone. Awesome milestone! We have a personal goal in mind - on the gear in a year!

My dad, Adam and I paid a visit to Ryan yesterday. His airplane looks great, no trick photography involved! Inspiring for us to see the next step- the forward fuselage. It looks so easy when it is already built!

My project isn't dead!

I did take about 3 months off to enjoy the summertime (plus my basement gets quite warm in the summer heat.) However at the end of September (beginning of Fall!) I got back to work, and have accomplished quite a lot. I'll be updating my blog over the next few weeks with details of my progress, but for now here are a few pictures of my progress in the past 2 weeks.

Engine mount installed:

Tailwheel and Main gear installed (on the gear in 10 months!):

Mixer mount and Control sticks asseembled:

Rudder pedals mounted and flap drive tube fitted:

Rear Spar carrythrough assembled:

And finally... the wings are rigged!! And it fits in my basement!!

Additionally, I ordered my Aerovee Turbo. Expected ship date is just after Thanksgiving.

Awesome! I never would have been able to resist the temptation to chuck the tail on for the pic.

Good point. I drilled the bolt holes last night and the wings are still on, will have to take that pic before I rack the wings again.

Quick video status update on the project. Wings are rigged and I tested my flap and aileron controls for the first time.
