Mixture control cable assy

This being my first post, if incorrectly done please forgive.
I am building Onex 090 with AeroVee and Aero Injector.
Is the mixture control sensitive I would be better off to install a
Vernier control in ace of the one that came with the kit?

I used the recommended push button lock for mine and it is fine for most situations. the vernier would be my choice now though as it would be nice to dial in the mixture for cross country. I don't think its important enough though to pull out what I have in favor or the vernier but I wish I would have gone that way from the beginning.

I'll offer about the same response as Bill. In addition to the xc mixture ease, I believe I could obtain better taxi mixture control with a vernier.

On the ground, you'll pull that knob out 7/8 of the way before anything starts to happen; then you only have about 1/4" between start of action and idle shut off. A vernier would give just a little better control.

Like Bill, I built it as-per-plans. It works well, I know the limits of its travels, but a vernier would be just a touch nicer. Kind of like having a/c in your car vs auto temp control.

Stay with the simple original design. I have over 200 hours in my Sonex with a Jab 2200. The original mixture control is plenty sensitive enough. I have flown to Oshkosh twice, and may go again this year.

I started with a Vernier throttle but replaced it with the Sonex trottle. It's much easier to use when doing aerobatics.

i have the a vernier mixture.
i monitor each cylinder and fly with close reference to EGt's.
i constantly make 1/4 turns to keep temps where i think they should be, i don't think i would be able to do that with the original push-button control.

Thanks for all the feedback. Seems about 50/50 in favor of either type. Most of my flying will be local and later learning light aerobatics.
(loops and rolls) later will come some cross country.
This year I am flying my Challenger II to Oshkosh from Arkansas. Next year I hope to take my Onex. Regardless, I always spend most of my time at the Sonex display area.
Lastly, are 2 EGT and 2 CHT monitors sufficient for my AeroVee? I plan on steam gauges and not glass for a couple of reasons.

If you choose to do 2+2, I'd put them on the rear cylinders (the CHTs at least) as these always run the hottest.
