Tygon to compression fitting. Does it exist?

Hi, all,

I received the free updated altitude encoder for the uAvioniz echoUAT. It has a compression type fitting for a 1/4" polyethylene tube, like these:

My pitot/static system is all tygon tubing, which is too flexible for these compression fittings. Does anyone know if there is a fitting that accepts the 1/4" polyethylene tubing at one end, and has a barbed fitting for the tygon tubing at the other?

How about a double barb? A heat gun will make the poly tube compliant enough for a barb fitting I think. Try it on scrap.

I'll probably have to try that if there isn't another more elegant solution. That polyethylene is pretty tough stuff.

You may be able to make your own fitting by buying 2 adapters, one to female npt and the other to male npt and joining them. You could also incorporate into a tee. I’ve done that for non-plane things with adapters from a home improvement store.

Have you tried the inserts that go in the end of the tube to keep it from collapsing?

officially it doesn't exist, but we use them all the time on model aircraft. just need the proper OD hose to make it work

Not sure what that means. The tygon is totally flexible, and the polyethylene is extremely rigid. Two different materials, so I'm not sure what the OD has to do with that?
