I believe that's very close to where mine are. Actually, that may be 1/2"-1" or so higher than mine, but as far as I can think right now, that should work for you.

One thing to consider though; I didn't install mine until I basically had the fuselage complete and on the gear. I purposely waited for a while, just to make sure I wouldn't run into issues later. You could always consider doing the same; i.e., waiting until you're much farther along before actually cutting out any metal. That way you could always make adjustments down the road.

Yea, I guess the reason I was asking the question was so I could go ahead and knock it out now while I have the panel free on the workbench, but I really have no clue as to what possible interference there will be, since I don't have a finished cockpit to stick my head into. The fuel tank is the only thing that pops to mind with this location.

This builder appears to have placed his vents in pretty much the exact same place I've positioned mine (based on the rivets he lined up with). Unfortunately he doesn't have an internal picture.

They will be fine in that position (high and as forward as possible)

The second photo from another builder is deceiving, the tank is well clear of the naca vent exit tube.

As you have worked out it is the flap and brake lever that the naca vent will contact if its too low. My ducting to the panel vent just contacts the flap lever but is held up out of the way with a ziptie.
