Onex Climb Performance

Postby FirebatMike » Thu Oct 31, 2024 10:56 am

Hey guys,

I'm working on a couple design modifications and am looking for some performance data for different engine and prop combinations. Really just looking for engine type, horsepower, propeller, and sustained climb rate up to 3000'. Thanks!

Climb rate will continue to very with altitude. Are you just looking for the stabilized climb rate as you pass through 3000 MSL? You'll also want to know if the plane had the long or short wingtips.

These numbers are from my flight test notes. Rotax 912 (mod to about 95HP). Short wingtips. They were calculated from the Dynon flight data.

Climb rate-
60" Warp Drive 3-blade taper tip @ 20 deg, 90 mph- 11-16-22
1199 fpm (avg 1000-4500 ft)
1282 fpm (1 min from 1000 ft)

Onex- Rotax 912 (160 hours and counting)
Fixed wing, gyroplane, A&P
