Aileron counterweight assy rivet

Postby Dave Wolfe » Sun Oct 13, 2024 4:52 pm

Hey guys this doesn't look quite right. The marks on the spacer between the aileron counterweight plates are supposed to be the hole locations for the rivets which attach the hinge and upper skin and spacer.

Is this normal? It doesnt look like there is enough edge distance on the back side meaning the formed rivet head would probably hit the backside of the spacer as its a 90 degree bend immediately behind the face you see.

That riveted area is a pain - but I got them riveted with a PRG-410. I'm not sure I understand what the problem is.

Yours look like they are positioned a bit more together than where mine would go. Right now mine seem like the end of the rivet would smash against 90 deg bend along the side.

Time to re do my hinge I think with a little more space
