Tank retainer angle

Postby dboeshaar » Thu Sep 05, 2024 5:37 pm

Greetings All!
I'm installing the gas tank on my Model B and the angle that holds the tank seems to go in backwards where the ends of the rivets are resting on the tank!
The holes on the glareshield were pre drilled and are over the tank!
To have the rivets NOT over the tank, I'll need to redrill all the holes in the glareshield.

The angle fits OK but with the lip out.

Thoughts?

Mine is installed with the rivets on the "panel" side of the glareshield. i.e. they are not over the tank. I did not have to redrill the holes. Are you sure your tank is all the way forward? It can be a pain to get it fully seated into position.

I was not going to comment as I have an A model. But much like Robert says, I really had to push my tank forward. I used to sit in the seat and use my feet on the tank. I think it's a Sonex design feature.
