Hey all,
I’m sure there are plenty of folks out there who have swapped from a bottom mount oil cooler to a top mounted cooler on an Aerovee.
I’ve got a bottom mount right now, but am thinking of switching to a top mount. I live in the PNW and decided the air temperatures are moderate enough to justify the slight wight loss and ease of oil-change that comes with a top mount. Question is, what are my considerations? What all has to happen to make the swap? So far, here’s what I’m tracking:
-Replace the oil pump with the non-ported version.
-I need to relocate the oil pressure sender.
-Install the new top-mount cooler using the mount plate.
Only thing that currently comes to mind that I’m not sure about is whether I would have to purchase a new fence baffle.
Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks!
