I saw the kitplanes article, but know nothing else. It looks interesting for sure and that is a unique cylinder design. It looks like it may be a good fit for the sonex, but the starter gear is huge and might be a challenge under the sonex cowl. I am curios what the fuel burn is and what RPM it turns..... but it's carbureted, costs $25k, weighs 165 pounds, and makes 110 horsepower. It seems as if there are lighter, more powerful, and/or more cost effective options already available.
