After a major failure of my old engine I had plenty of time to think about the installation of a new engine when it eventually arrived. I decided to reshape the cowl by extending it forward, requiring a 2" prop extension and shifting the inlets up above the centreline of the engine, so this is hardly a trivial change, but the overall results have been good. Temperatures are fairly even and, at least in winter, I have been able to fully close the air outlet dams which should reduce drag. Here's a link to my blog describing the reasons behind the changes and how I went about the modifications.
