Shoulder belt attach plate interference

Postby mccool » Thu Jun 22, 2023 8:38 am

I'm finding that the shoulder belt attach plate at turtledeck former #3 interferes with the former. I gather this happens a lot. Have you guys removed material from the 1/8" plate or from the former to get the clearance needed?

It's been a long time since I was there, but I'm thinking relieve the former.

Been there. Took the required material out of the attach fitting. Otherwise, a doubler will have to be fabricated and installed on the former. Not really a problem for people with engineering and riveting skills.

There again. I'm currently at that point on my second Waiex build. Same interference at the same location. Nothing has changed after 8 years. This time I'm making a wider F23-06 web to clear the former.
