- Fly part of the way with my Dad (he took me to many airshows as a kid, so this is my opportunity to return the favor)
- Rent a small RV (Class B+ or short Class C) a couple-hundred miles from OSH
- Ship some of our luggage ahead-of-time to the RV rental location/owner
- Dad drives the RV the last 4-6 hours to OSH
- Attend the Open House and stay for at least the first 3-4 days of AirVenture
I'm planning 250 - 300 mile legs (~2 hours of flight time) using the Turbo to fly at ~9500' MSL. I figure we can do 3 legs per day. If I add 1 day for weather, its a 3-4 day trip each way (note that I'm fully equipped for night flight, if necessary).
I'm open to ideas and critique from those of you who've done it before!
