Rotec Alternator

Has anybody tried to, or installed a Rotec alternator on a Sonex or Waiex with a Jabiru engine??

Yup. With some dexterity it can be done with the 22A in the airframe. The 33A sits further back towards the firewall, and here the space is just not available without some change to the Sonex design.

Kai are you saying it does not fit installed or that it is impossible to install with the engine mounted??? and was this on a standard gear or trigear

I am pretty sure it is not possible to install, I tried every way possible and could not figure a way to do it.

Neither. In the Legacy either the standard gear or tri gear the installation of the rear mount extra generator on the 33A requires mods to both engine mount and filler neck. IMHO it can`t be done, and it is certainly not a fitandforget/plugandplay thing. A pity, though, it´s a nice product.
