Aux Fuel Tank Plans

Resurrecting an old thread:

I am in search of the behind-the-seat aluminum fuel tank plans that used to be somewhat popular. The were an ~8 gal wedge shape that fit between the seat and the baggage compartment. Have found many links in various places, but they are all dead-ends to websites that are no longer active. Does anyone have a copy of those plans that they would be willing to send me?

Thank you! I think I remember seeing these years back. I also think I saw a welded aluminum tank design somewhere - or maybe I am making that up. Does anyone remember a welded tank like that?

EDIT - Thinking about this a little harder.. I believe this design will work ether being riveted and sealed together, or welded. This is probably what I am remembering. This article helped jog my memory:

These tank plans are my design. It holds 32 litres, weighs 6 lbs empty and can be removed or installed in 10 minutes. I've been using my original tank for 12 years now. Thankyou Peter for finding the link to the plans.
I used the Vans fuel tank sealant and rivets. There is no reason it couldn't be welded. It is a tight fit in the aircraft so would need to keep clearances in mind if building.

Any pictures of it installed? I'm not quite getting how it installs to the structure aft of the seat back.

I really like Steve's design and have had that page book marked for a long time for when I want to add an aux fuel tank.

Any pictures of it installed? I'm not quite getting how it installs to the structure aft of the seat back.

I have a new computer and at the moment cant access my external HD with the photos.

Its held in place with only a piano hinge each side. There is an angle stiffener behind the hinge on the vertical member and a couple of angles at the bottom attaching the vertical members to the horizontal. There are also internal stiffener angles inside the ends of the tank and 2 baffles.
