My sender backed out in flight. Lost a bit over a half quart. What a mess!
Video:
I've cleaned off the threads and redone the seal with loctite 515.
I've also drilled the corners of the hex for safety wire, and safetied it to one of the cylinder studs.

Is this a somewhat common problem? In my last flight I noticed higher engine temps approaching 400 degrees. I next noticed low oil pressure at about 20 psi. I quickly landed and put plane away. I'm sure I have a problem because I normally see about 45 - 50 psi oil pressure. Hope to hear from others on this, especially if there are other common reasons for loosing oil pressure like I did. Thanks, Ed Perkins, Appleton, WI
Recently replaced my sender (same style vdo) came with a copper crush gasket. We were able to run it into the engine by hand up until the last thread. Sealed good with just with bottoming out the copper washer
