Aeroinjector throttle cable

I have an Aero-injector carby for my Aerovee and was hoping to use the Aero-Conversions throttle quadrant to ensure that the cable controlled the cable in the conventional sense. However, now that I have the quadrant I don't find the Sonex-prescribed position for the quadrant (on the rear wing-attach angle) very convenient, so I was thinking of reverting to a conventional push-pull throttle cable and using a bell-crank to reverse the direction before it gets to the Aero-injector.

If anyone else has done this, I would appreciate a photo of the bell-crank. If it is in a place that is difficult to take photos, please describe it and its location.

I plan to do something similar but will probably put the reversing linkage closer to the throttle, right by the panel.

I emailed Ross a couple of times. He lives in Rockford which is where I work.

I've been considering various throttle options too. I'm wondering about mounting the AeroConversion quadrant on the left and using it as a bellcrank for a center-mounted throttle control. The center control would be connected to the left one via a cable loop under the fuel tank. I hope the radius of about 20 inches is not too tight for the interconnecting cable and I hope the total system friction is acceptable.

OK stupid question...The Aeroconversions throttle quad has provisions for a push or pull installation. Why go through the trouble of reversing it elsewhere?

Not a stupid question. I used to fly an Arrow with a quadrant and a Cessna with a push throttle. I liked the Cessna setup better for center throttle.

If you have the olderstyle Aerocarb it has provisions for both push type and pull type throttles. The new Aeroinjector is set up for pull open only. If you want to use the Cesna style push to open throttle then you need a bell crank to reverse the push action to a pull. There were some photos on here or the Foundation site.

This is a very old thread but I'm hoping to see a few examples what bell cranks folks have come up with.

Thinking of swapping out the RevFlow carb for an AeroInjector. Since I am set on keeping the push/pull controls I'll need to come up with a bell crank. There was a link on this thread but it's a dead end now.

Anyone care to post pictures of your solution?
