Canopy latch with automatic lock

The instructions are for the normal latch fitted forward but are essentially the same for the rear fitting.

I still have the normal handle that I haven't installed. The way I did the canopy frame rails left rivets in the way. I was going to make a new mounting block to avoid the rivets, but maybe the rear location would work. It looks like most of the assembly is the same, with some clever changes to the inside handle.

The only differences are the internal handle parts although Tom found that the bulge of the Onex canopy meant he didn't have enough clearance on the outside and had to file down part of the external plastic trim, so I will supply them with a slightly longer shaft. If you already have an A model latch you just need the inside handle parts but you may have to make the same small mod.

Thanks Peter. I took a quick look a few days ago, and the rear location has the same issue as the front. There are rivets in the way of the mounting block. If the canopy bubble was removed, I could drill those out, but I don't have any plans to remove that bubble right now. If the latch were being installed during the build, this would be easy. I'll eventually make a modified mounting block to fit around the rivets.

Interesting that you have rivets that interfere with the mounting block. In my case the block fit perfectly immediately forward of the canopy frame rivets. The block is fitted against the aft edge of the slide rail while the slide rail positioned full aft. The original Peter Anson internal lever needs to be replaced/fabricated as per Peters modification to work in a push mode rather than pull. I did remove the original OneX locking plate/outside tab to make room for the mechanism.
