Up drill Outboard to Inboard wing attachment page: ONX-W05

Hello Onex builders,

Mostly done (~98%) with the fuselage/controls/outboard-wing construction.

At this time I am stuck.
The Completed outboard wings are connected to the Inboard main spar with a 1/4 in bolt as called out in the plans - page: ONX-WO5

I had a real struggle just getting the Pivot bolt holes up-drilled/aligned enough to insert a 1/4 in bolt.

As I now attempt to up-drill 2 main spar holes the drill does not drill into the hardened stainless steel inboard spar caps/outboard hardened stainless steel pivot plate.

What I'm asking:
Can you tell me what series of drill bit Types/Sizes that worked for you?

Also: I am using a an electric/corded drill. Is other advisable?

I use very slow drill speed and plenty of cutting fluid.

This issue has me currently build stopped.
