I think one of the AC legs on the voltage regulator is tied to ground. I had to swap my leads to get my tach to work.

I did also, which is why I am asking. It may be a very basic and easy fix.

Well no joy! So I double checked the wiring from the EIS all the way to the voltage regulator and its good so I'm at a loss here. Is there some sort of setting in the EIS that I'm missing (overlooked)?

Maybe post in the avionics or electrical forum. Its not really a Onex issue as much as an engine/electrical/avionics. I suspect there are readers over there that don't look at the Onex forum.

I had the same problem on my original start up with my OneX/AeroVee. Tried the resister trick with intermittent results. Eliminated resister. Then I switched the lead on the terminals of the voltage regulator. Works perfect now. I have the MGL Extreme EFIS.

Besides checking the wiring, get the tach sense lead on the other leg of the regulator. I'm sure you saw Jeff's helpful post on the other thread.

Thanks everyone for the help. The EIS was set to low I must have missed it when I was setting up EIS pages I set it to high and it now works as advertised.
