Finishing Wing Roots

Postby Aldo » Sat Jan 17, 2015 8:17 am

Good Morning Everyone,

My new to me Sonex has what I consider unfinished wing roots. As you move along the seam between the wing and fuselage, several area are very close. I suspect the previous owner had difficulty using rubber gap seal material such as that sold by Spruce. Has anyone tried a colored silicon or similar product and masking tape to get a clean line? If so, what are the pros and cons? Suggestions for application technique?

Thanks again for all your comments!

I am a big fan of "draft excluder". Can be purchased in self adhesive roles, various profiles, colours, thickness and densities. Best of all its relativly cheap from your hardware store.
