Installing prop bolts with the aerovee spinner

How do you guys torque your propeller bolts? The counterbores on the spinner aren't big enough to fit a 1/2" socket from what I can tell, so how do you hold the bolt while you torque the nut? Am I missing something obvious?!

Chris, when I had my AeroVee with that spinner I just looked for the thinnest sockets I could find and ground a bit off the edges to make it fit.

Others may have more elegant solutions.

I concur with Robbie. Individual, cheap, hardware store, bargain bin, deep socket might work. But you still might have to grind some.

Good quality 3/8" drive sockets should fit. Cheap ones with low grade steel and poor tolerances tend to have heavy walls.

I use a 1/4in drive socket with an adapter. $2 at the flea market.
