SNB-C04 taper pin question

For the AN386-2-12 taper pin you use a #2 taper reamer to finish the hole.
I have the reamer. Wow! $95.
Do you have any suggestions on how to drill the hole?

What drill size bits would you drill the hole with before using the number 2 reamer?
I saw a good article written by Eric Seber on the #1 taper reamer. http://www.sonexfoundation.com/uploads/ ... lation.pdf
He "started with a #40 steel bit, updrilled to a #30, and updrilled once more to a #11 hole size. The #11 bit is just slightly smaller than the small end of the taper reamer. I then inserted the reamer and opened up the hole making sure to make several light passes so not to oversize the hole."

What would the equivalent be for the #2 taper reamer?

I just updrilled to a size approximately the same as the small end of the tapered reamer. Also, I was able to drill all the holes for the #1 and #2 tapered pins all with the #1 reamer, just by using more of the length of the reamer.

Thanks Chris,
You saved me 90 bucks!
Some quick math shows that the slope of the taper to be nearly identical

B & S taper pins sizes 1 to 9 are actually an identical taper, they are all 1/2" per ft. So definitely no problems using other B & S reamer sizes if they get the job done.

Speaking of saving some money, the ASI tool sharing #1 B&S reamer is available to the next person needing it...just let me know who needs it next.
