CHT Sensors

Postby pilotyoung » Sat Jun 05, 2021 10:31 am

I have a Onex with an AeroVee engine and an MGL Xtreme. I had to put new heads on the engine and am considering changing to the CHT sensors that fit under the spark plugs. After looking at pictures of these sensors and the spark plug area of the head I am not sure they will fit.

Is anyone using the MGL CHT sensors that fit under the spark plugs on an AeroVee? If so what is your experience with them? Would you recommend them?

Thanks.

I have been using the under plug senders for 300 hrs. now. Yes, they fit and are a little challenging to deal with during a plug change, but not a big deal breaker.

The happiest day of my aviation life was when I finally got rid of under the plug CHT sensors! They are such a pain.
