MGL OAT Probe & GPS Antenna

Postby Stevetin » Sun Jun 20, 2021 4:00 pm

Hello Fellow Builders. I'm currently installing MGL XTreme EFIS & EMS in my Waiex. Any suggestions as to a location(s) to mount the OAT probe and GPS antenna?

Hi Steve
I mounted my GPS antenna on top of the glareshield and the OAT probe is inside the wing leading edge.

If you have a fresh air NACA vent feeding the cabin that is a great place for the OAT probe. It's easy to drill the back of the vent to insert the probe. Place the hole where the vent is deepest. The probe won't be visible, unless you look into the vent, and finally you you will get a very accurate outside air temperature measurement.

GPS antenna on the glareshield. You can cover it with the black cloth that you'll use to eliminate glare.
