Waiex B Ruddervator Assembly - Drive Plate

I'm having a little trouble understanding these plans at times. I'm attaching the drive plate to the root rib and have already created the 15 degree bend required. What I'm not completely sure is if the bend is supposed to go down as I attach it to the root rib or up. Thanks.

The drawing in WXB-T05 makes the orientation clearer. You can see how the bend in the tip of the horn is aligned with the ruddervator assembly.

The -02R uses a -03 drive plate. The -02L uses a -04 drive plate. So down means bend the -07 tab down into the plans sheet. This is all on WIX-T06.

My notes say 20 degrees instead of 15. I think most Waiex builders needed more bend for rod end clearance.

I'm having a little trouble understanding these plans at times.

I find that it often helps to look at the plans page where the completed part will be used. From that picture you can see how components are orientated relative to other parts. Another benefit is that you'll be able to make sure you have the hardware and tools needed for that page. Keeps surprises to a minimum.

Tip, always label your parts with a sharpie, especially when they are duplicate-looking parts that have different part numbers. Clean off the sharpie marks (I like to use acetone in a spray bottle) only when you're sure you won't need them anymore (and/or when the marks are about to be sealed off in an area that won't be accessible in the future.)

Yeah those plans especially when you are first starting off seem to be a sticking point, I know I bent mine backwards I have a few nice bookends as a result lol and my wallet is a couple steak dinners lighter lol.

That being said the plans are consistent in how the parts rotate relative to each other so eventually you get better at reading them at face value but like was previously stated looking at the subsequent parts usage which is listed on the bottom right corner of the plans it is usually a lot clearer to how the item should go.

And +1000 to marking off the completed part numbers with a sharpie.

Wow! Thanks to everyone for such great advice. I figured I had it right but I've already ruined a few parts. So far 1 side has ended up as a practice piece and the other gets done correctly. I was starting to feel like I was alone out there; thanks again.
