Fix for Onex tailwheel spring spacer

Postby Don_P » Fri Nov 15, 2013 4:34 pm

Onex builders may have noticed that in spite of the 07/13/12 revision to ONX-L03, which added a spacer (ONX-L03-09), the tailwheel spring still wobbles between the two mounting angles. An alternate solution is to add two saddle washers, one on each side to the tailwheel spring. Use saddle washers with a 5/8-inch concavity and a 1/4-in center hole. These are available from Pegasus Auto Racing Supplies, part. no. 3077-003-0625. Current unit price is $3.29. They are a perfect fit.

Hi Guys,

Can anyone tell me why just filling the space with regular AN washers is a bad idea? . I didn't see an advantage over the Sonex sleeved method so that's what I did . The above solution looks slick , but is it worth it ?

Hi Marc.
I probably would have used washers also but I just like the idea of the saddle washers because it looks planned. The price came to just a little over $8.00 .with shipping.
Cheers,
Mike .
