There was probably .015" slack and that is a lot of bouncing around to allow a big difference in fuel usage creating a tuning nightmare. I fixed it by cutting some small shims out of beer,,, I mean coke cans to take up the slack. It seemed to help and I have been happy for the last yr plus with it. It is a bit of a pain to tune the aeroinjector but it is inexpensive and once you get it where you want it, it works well.

You and I have very similar objectives. I’m building a B conversion Waiex and have switched from an AeroVee 2.1 w/AeroInjector to a Gen 4 Jabiru 3300 w/TBI cuz I need the horsepower here in the mountains of Idaho. The whole reason for going TBI is because of simplicity/reliability/performance. I’ve read a lot about AeroInjector tuning and have been taken back by the sheer amount (many hours) of fiddling it requires to get right. “Burping” and stumbles continue to plague the AeroInjector even when tuned properly. That tells me it’s maybe too simple or course in it’s adjustability. The Rotec TBI appears to have put more thought into adjustability, hence being slightly more complex. I wanted to get first hand knowledge from people who have dealt with both TBIs on the same engine. What was the “tuning and functional” reason you went back to the AeroInjector. I’m all ears and not adverse to the AeroInjector at all.
