Unlike Graeme, I only had to wait 6.5 months to get a prop. It's worth the extra cost of admission, just to have people come up and ask "what did you hit to get the tips to bend over like that?"

Haven't flown the thing yet, so no performance intel here either. I did spring for the leading edge protection and tape kit. The leading edge protection is so well done you can't tell it's there, unless you look at the bill-of-sale.

I’m gonna add my two cents here about Prince Propellers. Lonnie has been a long time supporter of our community, and is a class act - his service and attention are unequaled.

Yes, the lead time can be long - but you’re supporting a small, family owned veterans business also when you buy from him.

Performance wise, I’m on the side of it climbs better, but have no empirical data to provide. We’ve long wanted to do a community data set on props, engines and performance. Maybe it’s time to renew the idea....

no experience on aerovee, but on jab 3300. Long lead time 8+months. Although the pitch is "supposed" to be slightly less coarse than the sensenich I had on it, the p-tip loads the engine up better. I get slightly reduced rpms with perhaps 2 mph + on the same cruise rpm. The sensenich seemed under pitched and I would get high EGT on TO. All in all I like the p-tip and it seems to work better for my plane/engine although I don't think it is entirely apples to apples .( each prop was the recommended for the engine though). P-tip is definitely prettier . I decided NOT to place the prop tape on (prop just looks to nice to mess up with tape lol)

Where are you located? I have a nearly brand new P-Tip 54x44 with leading edge protection just sitting in my hangar. If you don’t want to pay full price and want it soon I could sell it to you. No pressure; if you’re interested message me and I can send some pics of it.

Like so many others have said, I’ve used Price props on my AeroVee, both non turbo and turbo, and I now have one on my Jabiru. You won’t find a prettier, smoother, and nicer prop! They are works of art!

I did direct comparisons between the Sensenich and the P-Tip with my AeroVee. Depending on RPMs, the P-Tip was consistently 5-8 kts faster in cruise, and 11 kts faster WOT. The P-Tip gave me an extra 120 RPM at WOT. Depending on climb speed, the P-Tip gave me about 100 fpm better on warm days; more on cold days.

My climb tests were on a day around 82* F. The cruise tests were done when the temps were around 75* F on the ground.

Hello Mike,
I am in Wisconsin. Did you move away from the Aerovee and that is why you have this left over? Is the 54x44 the same as what would be recommend for the 80hp Aerovee? Thanks.

You are correct. I have installed a Jabiru 3300 engine on my airplane and have that prop left over.
