This really sucks and more than likely, the seller had an idea there was a problem.
When you first bought it, was there any noise or other indication of a problem? It's a shame, but in the long run it would have been better for you to have completely torn your prop strike engine down and build it back up correctly. You MAY have just as much in this one when all said and done. I thought I saw your old engine on Barnstormers and didn't know it was sold. You could have use those parts to fix it.
Not ALL aviation people are honest and forthright and I hate to see this happen to you or anyone else. I would probably call the seller to 'thank' him for the good deal.
