Bally bomb-in

Postby bipbuilder » Tue May 26, 2020 9:43 pm

On june7 (if rain june 21) we will be pulling the bally bomber out for pictures. If a few sonexes were to show up that morning they could get their picture with the bomber and talk to the owner.
Let me know if there's any interest.
Thanks

I will be there! For those that do not know what this is, is the worlds only scratch built B-17 scale replica. (Or at least the only one I have ever heard of!)

You have to see it to believe it.

Just a reminder, we will have the bomber out at 8 am. We will stay as long as people want to stay. It is located at dixon il. C73. Unlike at oshkosh there will be no ropes to hold people back. This is old school craftmanship no predrilled holes or 3d printers were used.

Great seeing Jake and Dale at the fly-in today! (And Jakes friend, forgot the name. Apologies)

Bally’s Bomber is just one of the coolest scratch built airplanes I have ever seen.

Thank you to all who made the bally bomb in. Jack enjoyed it emensly. None of us could have known how perfect the timing would be. Those of you who met with him were the last ones to here his stories. Jack bally died today. The home building community has lost a legend. Thank you and blue skies.

How incredibly sad. Thank you for the opportunity to the sonex community. I wish I was able to make it to the bomb-in
