How to identify 10a vs 20a alternator

I got both with a Waiex I purchased. One is round and encased, the other is open. Which is which?

I have the old 10a one and it is potted with resin or epoxy plastic stuff. I believe that the new one is just an open coil like you would expect to see. Something like that though might be worth emailing sonex just to be sure.
