So now I’m doing the leak test on my fuel tank before final installation. It sat for 24 hours filled with water and I see none. Do you think that’s good enough or should I fill with fuel to be sure?? Thanx billy

I would do a pressure test. Not more than 5 lbs per square inch. Ad check with the factory to make sure that 5 lb psi spec is accurate. If it doesn't leak over a 24 hour period you are good to go.

5 psi might even be on the high side for a welded tank. The RV guys test their prosealed tanks by taping on a rubber glove to test for leaks, the inflated rubber glove is used to set the inflation pressure and it's also used as the leak indicator.

I did a 24 hour balloon test, attached to the fuel vent fitting:



The balloon didn't shrink in 24 hours, and my fuel system hasn't leaked yet (well, not at the fuel tank anyway.)

Do you think the pro seal is necessary if no leaks can be found?? Always worried if that stuff breaks down and clogs the screen. I’ve used tank sealers on motorcycle tanks that have broke down.

RV tanks are riveted structures and pro-seal is required. Not for our tanks. I also used a balloon like Ryan.

Than Bryan but I made my tank welded aluminum no rivets. So that’s why I’m asking.

Use the balloon technique. 5 psi is say too much.
