F-06 Glare Shield and Instrument Panel (Legacy)

This print page shows 52 of the same size rivet attaching the glare shield. Those would be CCP-42s.

But here's the thing; A -42 rivet has a grip length of 1/8in I'm told. The stack-up of parts where the instrument panel cross-tie attach plate meets the longeron/glare shield is almost 1/4in (.247) The overall length of a -42 (no mandrel) is .282in.

Unless someone can explain to me where I went wrong assembling these components, I believe a -44 rivet should be substituted in that location.

Trust your judgement. You definitely need 4-4 rivets at the ends of the cross tie attachment plates. In fact, 4-2 rivets are kind of marginal for all the other locations, although I'd bet that's what I used myself.
