How many hours flying with the new AeroCarb? Were you able to succesfully tune it using ground run and testing in the air?

I, and I am sure many others would like to know what caused the engine failure. We are all concerned with such an occurrence ourselves and the more information we have the better!

Here's what Fritz had to say on another forum....

It's just speculation at this point but... The likely culprit looks like an external fuel leak from the mixture on the AeroInjector carb getting sucked back through the filter. It had a new air filter with fresh K&N filter oil (red). All of the oil on the side of the filter next to the mixture was washed off. A little fuel had been running out of the cowling prior to the "landing" (pre-dirt evidence on the cowl) and one of the guys on the ground saw "too rich" *smoke coming out of the pipes.
