Flap Pushrod Assembly

Postby pfhoeycfi » Thu Dec 12, 2019 4:40 pm

The assembly plans show a 3" length of 1/4 - 28 threaded rod with MW4 rod end bearings on each end. No other specs on the rod. What strength rod should I be looking for? Coating? Where can I get short lengths. Everywhere I look...6 feet, 10 feet min.

The Sonex B model kit includes all the push rods, you don't need to source or fabricate them. Search through the shipped parts, you'll find them.

yes i have the push rod tubes.

the short flap pushrod is just a 3 inch length (each) of threaded rod. that i don't have and its not on the inventory list from sonex and not on the inventory list from the hardware supplier...but I'll look again.

thanks,

Not necessarily. I have the B model #14 and they were not included in my kit. I had to source mine from McMaster Carr and paid through the nose for them. Sonex updated the hardware list at some point after my serial number so they are probably included now.

My B-model conversion kit did not include the pushrod assembly. I had to source them.

SNB 0023 has no 1/4 - 28 threaded rods (2 x 3") included in my kit or on paper. Am looking to see what's available in Alberta Canada without having to ship from US. Will be checking with Sonex to see what they're made out of.

I also sourced mine through McMaster, but ordered high strength ones: P/N 90322A663, more expensive at $5.50 each when I ordered. I probably would have been fine with the less expensive ones, but at $11.00 for two I thought I would splurge....
