Dynon HDX1100 bench test

Postby pfhoeycfi » Wed Oct 30, 2019 2:25 pm

I have an opportunity to acquire an unused HDX1100 for very little cost. Before I commit I would like to throw it on the bench and test it. Does anyone familiar with the 1100 know of a functional test I could perform on the bench? I've briefly searched the Dynon site ...will do more but thought I'd throw the question out there.

You might be able to gleam something from the install guide...

If the price is right, buy it anyway. Dynon will recondition the unit (even if it's significantly damaged) for a very reasonable price (most are done for $200). If it starts up and works, you're $200 ahead. If not, you've got a way to get it back up and running.

I agree with Jeff, purchase the unit and send it to dynon for piece of mind. This will likely be a critical flight instrument for your airplane. A bench test is unlikely to provide concrete information. I love my hdx1100 and my entire dynon suite of avionics in my sonex.

If anyone has an older Dynon 7" screen and wants to upgrade to 'touch screen, etc.' I would be interested in buying it. John ( Onex 0179)
