Watch this. It is amazing the hubris the pilot had to try and takeoff.

They are lucky to walk away. I think the owner had at least $1M invested in this. And his quick acceptance of fault indicates he didn't have insurance on it.

So sad. We all need to set limitations.

hi all,
his statement after the fact that he didnt want to get the tower mad at him after the accident
is completely nuts. all he had to due is tell the tower he needed to take off directly into the wind across the runway. the tower controller is not going to get mad. he/she is interested in safety as much as the aircraft operator. this was another foolish accident that didnt need to happen. i assume he was the only operator trying to take off in such conditions? but what do i know? only a front row seat for 35 yrs in the tower cab, tracon, or center. many pilots came to the facility to offer gratitude , thanks, sometimes in tears after quite a ride. yes all human whether it be military, ga, bizjets , or airliners.
remember when u go fly, do you really need to go for that $100 breakfast or is it better to wait an hour , a day , for better conditions.
be safe everyone. know your ability, limitations. there’s people at home waiting for your safe return. they are counting on you to make the right choices.
