Working on canopy frame. Put side channels on so no rivets on sides just bond into slot

Can someone explain to me what part pivots on control assembly where it mounts to front spar carry through tunnel? Is bolt stationary and bushing pivots on bolt? Is bolt and bushing stationary and assembly pivots on outside of bushing? Thanx for any help. Billy

The bolt should pivot within the bushing. You want the movement/friction to be between the bushing and the steel bolt, not the bushing and (softer) aluminum. Sometimes you have to ream out the bushings a little bit if the bolt is too tight to pivot freely.

So the bushing should be a press fit in assembly?

Ideally yea, into the aluminum part, although sometimes a too-tight press fit will shrink the inside of the bushing and cause the bolt to bind, so it's a delicate balance. I only recall one bushing that was spinning in the aluminum on me. I believe I applied some loctite to make the bushing grab the aluminum so the bolt would spin in the bushing instead
