Mgl efis and Sandia transponder

Can somebody please tell me how to set up a Sandia 165 transponder to a MGL extreme efis. The instructions do not give me enough information and I've talk to MGL and I'm still confused trying to figure out how to set up the RS 232 port to get the MGL to recognize the Sandia. Please help
