Sonex-B ABS Supplement

Postby n307tw » Thu Jun 27, 2019 7:22 pm

Hey fellow B-builders. I have an email into the factory but I was wondering if any of you can email me a copy or a picture of the Sonex-B ABS supplement. I have the abs panels but no instructions on where to cut and in the plans it says to refer to the SNB-F05-ABS supplement. It’s not in my plans or in any of the paperwork I have or on the website. Anyone who can help, I would appreciate it!

Hi Tim,

I did not receive a supplement with my Waiex B kit nor can I find it on the website. Please let us know what you hear from the factory.

Thanks,
Paul

Hey Paul,

I haven't heard back from the factory yet but when I do I will certainly post something. I am just trying to determine the best routing for wiring and how to fit it behind the ABS panels. Don't want to cut anything without first knowing all the correct dimensions which are according to my plans on this supplemental instructions.

Sonex-B ABS Supplement

Response from Kerry at the factory:

“That document was never produced and we need to remove that reference from
the plans.

Drawing F05 shows the trimming of the plastic side panels. They are purely
cosmetic so you can trim them anyway you wish to accommodate your needs.”

I will take some very detailed pictures at Oshkosh this year of the -B Models before attempting to cut these out.

Hope this helps the -B builders out there.

Tim

Tim
I would appreciate seeing those pics as I to am struggling with the how, where, when questions. I would also like for someone to tell me just how to make a good, nice looking, clean cut through this fairly thick material. Thanks in advance for sharing those pics

Sonex-B ABS Supplement

I most certainly will share with group and/or PM you if there are too many pictures. Your question is a good one on how to cut through the thick ABS material. I tried in a little corner that will be scrap and the large aluminum cutting aircraft snips cut through it like butter. Image

There are a few views of the ABS panels on my sheets. The large side panels are easy to figure out. I can't figure out how to trim and place the smaller front panels.

Does anyone have any guidance and/or detailed photos of the interior side panel installation?
