Hey Mark, just a question-Do you have the sensor mounted directly to the engine?

I do. it is the angled position above the other hole. been working fine for 14 months and 80 hrs since I bought the plane. It just recently started acting up. I bought another vdo unit and keep it in the plane for the time it totally goes south on me.

Mark These senders are prone to fail, its only a few minutes work to change the sender if you already have one its probably worth giving it a try.
I had a slowly decreasing oil pressure and added a washer to the relief valve, it brought the pressure indication up and I was happy. I later calibrated the sender with an air compressor adjusting the regulator and ohm meter. Turned out the sender was getting stuck and giving the same resistance output from 30 psi right up to 80. When I put a new sender on the pressure was was actually a bit too high from adding the washer.
From memory I think a vdo 5 bar unit increases 10 ohms for every 5 psi

Wes...I don't know if any are available commercially. I made one using an AN fitting, AN816 in my case. Plug one end, clamp in vise, and heat with torch to melt solder to fill it up. When cooled, drill tiny hole through solder. .035-.05 should do. If you want more bite inside the fitting for the solder to form to, you could run a tap through it.

Wag-Aero , has the then in their catalog.....see part # A-123-003.......restrictor fitting................

Hey Rick,

Thanks. I just didn't know what to call it. Once I checked Wag-Aero and found out it was a "Restrictor Fitting", google magically started working again :-)

Similar to woodmw I just made my own orifice. Sounds like some folks have found commercial ones available.
