Help replacing tailwheel pivot mount

With the fuselage we recently acquired, the stock tail wheel pivot mount is installed on the spring rod and seems unmovable. We have purchased a replacement from Flyboyaccessories.com. Our issue is how to remove the stock pivot mount in order to install the new one. All comments and help appreciated.

It may be epoxied in place? If it is, you could use a heat gun to soften the glue.

You will also need to make a jig to align the new part to the existing hole in the tail rod.
