I'm enjoying your thread and progress! I really like your aluminum-foil-over-wooden-formers casting method for doing one-off parts. Are there any tricks to this that aren't obvious in your picture? Shrinkage allowances, type of wood, mold releases, soak the wood in water, etc?

Nope... just what you see. MDF bottom, pine sides and aluminum foil. Foil came right off. By the way Never put water or any chance of it near the mold. I made the mold exact size except in height. I made it about 1/8” taller and only poured up to an 1/8” from the top. Easy... go for it...
