Hi everyone! New owner/builder from Detroit recently purchased partially completed scratch build Sonex #980 from a local pilot. Looking forward to finishing the build and the challenges it presents! A bit about me: I'm a paramedic for a local fire department and a part time luthier. Here is one of my recent builds:

Welcome aboard! I'm building a Waiex at Mettetal Airport in Canton. There's a completed Sonex here and another under-construction Waiex nearby. You're welcome to visit anytime.

I saw on another post that you're looking for an Aerovee engine mount & cowling. I can help you with that.

Welcome to the group. I'm sure you will enjoy the build process. There's a good variety of skills used in the later half of the build which keeps the repetition down.

Nice looking work on that 12 string. I play a Loprenzi concert classical. I've thought about building one but nixed that idea because of the many builds needed to get to the level of creating a decent sounding one. I bet you will have one hellova instrument panel overlay when you get done.

Welcome to the forums. If you can build those instruments the airplane should be easy. Aluminum is stable and trustworthy. I'm not so good with wood.
