Hi,

I know it is a tight corner but have you tried to use different kinds of nuts, there is smaller ones available which fit in that corner.

Smaller nuts are in the mail, but other than aesthetics, what's the advantage? Or alternatively, what's wrong with a nut on the firewall side if it's an all metal lock nut?

Onex #117 has finally received a coat of paint, six months after the first flight.
The color is Alfa Rosso, same as my Alfa Romeo Giulia...

Hi David,
At 2900 rpm, I see 109 kias at 2000 ft, at 2800 rpm about 100 kias.
WOT at 3200 rpm is about 124 kias.
I climb at between 85 and 90 kias to keep the CHT's down so the climb rate is a bit slow but who cares when you enjoy the trip to nowhere or to somewhere an hour or two away!

My performance numbers in my OneX are similar to yours:
119 Knots (137 MPH) TRUE air speed at 3200 RPM @ 2,500 feet

The only difference is that my WOT in straight and level flight is around 3400 RPM.

I see a consistent 3200 RPM during climb. I climb at between 78 and 87 knots (90 - 100 MPH).

Which prop do you use? I use a composite Sensenich.

Onex Speed Run...……

Hey David Onex #0028......here are some "numbers" that I am seeing with my Onex #0024.

I have the Hummel 2400 which is 85 hp and a Prince carbon fiber "P" tip prop 54x48.

WOT...3510 rpm gives me 162 mph IAS. Fuel flow is 5.6 gph at 3500. Oil temp 183 F...OP 69 psi
CHT's run 225 F to 240 F ......EGT's 1350 F to 1390 F during that speed run.
Engine monitor is an Electonics International CGR-30P.

I have some photos of the panel during that speed run showing these numbers but I don't know how to post photos on here......if you send me your email ad I can send you thoses pictures. gdbaxter78@gmail.com

My Onex has the long wing tips, 5:00x5 tires and weighs in at 640 lbs.

One other note: There has been some discussion about the "Red Cube" transducer for fuel flow. According to Electrionic's International (the maker of the Red Cube)…..the "Gold Cube" is to be used for "gravity feed" fuel systems....the Red Cube MAY give inaccuate readings if used in that enviorment.......just saying FYI.

For my previous RV/Lycoming setup I used the Red Cube for that installation which worked well. I have the Gold Cube in my Onex.

Thanks Dirk, Michael and Gordon, that’s good information. As we go through our phase one, hopefully others will also respond. I’ve only managed one pattern flight in my Onex before weather prevented others. Anxious to continue this spring. N951X is a trigear with wings shortened to 19 feet and a Revmaster 2300. 622lbs with differential brakes, trim tab and center pedestal for the Sandia 165. Steam gauges, MGL V10 and GRT engine monitoring. I’ll post my numbers as I get them.

Hi David,

Do you have any pictures of the panel for N951X? I'm most interested in seeing the 'center pedestal for the Sandia 165'.
